At Some Point

At some point, you just stop crying.

His words still sting.

His hands still hurt.

But the flame of hope goes out.

You stop one day

And you see then

That there is nothing to cry to.

Sometimes you scream.

Sometimes you yell.

But there is no one to hear you.

You are alone

And no one cares.

Then shame falls upon you.

You lie and smile

So no one knows.

By then, you are trapped.

His words still sting.

His hands still hurt.

At some point, you just stop crying.
